E-invoices from Google Sheets: XRechnung and ZUGFeRD

If your invoices live in Google Sheets, you can produce German e-invoices without leaving your Google account. E-Rechnung für Sheets is a Google Sheets add-on: Extensions → E-Rechnung → Set up creates the tabs Rechnungen, Kunden, Verkäufer and Einstellungen, a Drive folder “E-Rechnungen” and an editable Google Docs invoice template.

  1. Enter your company and your customers once (VAT id, IBAN, contact; Leitweg-ID for public-sector customers).
  2. Write invoice lines – one row per item, grouped by invoice number, with a tax category per line.
  3. Open the sidebar, pick the invoice, Check – messages point at the cell – then Create.
  4. The ZUGFeRD PDF (PDF/A-3, profile EN 16931 or XRECHNUNG) or XRechnung XML (CII/UBL) lands in the Drive folder; optionally send it via Gmail.

The add-on runs as Apps Script inside your Google account; invoice data is never sent to our servers (only the license check sees a hashed account id). Keep the created files unchanged for 8 years. A DATEV booking batch for your accountant is included. 30-day trial without a card.
